About us: I live in Coonawarra, South Australia with my wife Suse, daughters Georgie (10), Lucy (8) and son Jack (4). My role, as Vineyard Manager at Wynns, is to participate with my team, in the management of 2,265 ac (917Ha) of vineyards, to ensure the 5000 tonnes of fruit harvested is of optimal quality. Wynns Coonawarra Estate was founded by Scottish pioneer John Riddoch, who as a true visionary – planted vineyards in 1891. Wynns has developed into Australia’s preeminent Cabernet producer, with 54 consecutive vintages, and a national reputation as the benchmark wine for Australian Cabernet. Mellor is our grazing operation in the heart of the renowned Coonawarra Wine district. “Coonawarra Angus” is our registered brand and our aim is to produce MSA/EU graded Angus.

The Nuffield Scholarship Program

Established in 1947, in the UK, the Nuffield program resulted from a bequest from William Morris (later to become Lord Nuffield) of the Morris car company. Nuffield Scholarships were awarded to 21 Australian Primary Producers in 2012. The scholarship program provides leading primary producers with the opportunity to travel overseas to increase their general knowledge of global agricultural issues and to gain skills to benefit their industry and business.
